    Adoption, Motivation and Success Factors of Social Media for Team Collaboration in SMEs

    In team collaboration we deal with collaboration among team members that may either belong to the same enterprise (intra-enterprise collaboration) or among team members belonging to different companies (e.g., in research projects). Social media provide an efficient and accessible means of encouraging and supporting team members working together on shared objects, i.e., performing collaborative tasks within these teams. Due to ease of use and access, especially small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may profit a lot from social media in team collaboration. Based on a number of case studies on the application of social media in SMEs, we analyze the adoption and implementation, the motivation of team members and their benefit, and success factors of the utilization of social media for team collaboration. To provide a set of case studies that allow for detailed comparison and in-depth analysis of multiple case studies, a standardized case study structure is introduced.

    Collaborative Content Management in E-learning

    Recently, many new technologies have been developed in content management, e.g., collaborative content management, user generated content, Web 2.0 approaches. Many of these technologies can be used effectively for educational purposes. Since the development in the field of content management is very dynamic it also affects E-learning systems. This paper aims at identifying trends in collaborative content management that can be applied in E-learning scenarios. Additionally, it points out whether underlying technologies of these trends have already been integrated in learning management systems, learning content management systems and conventional web content management systems.

    Supporting a Blended Learning Course by Podcasting

    The efficient use of different kinds of podcasts (audio, video and screen casts, enhanced podcasts) in a part-time degree programme based on blended learning at a university of applied sciences is presented. An integrated approach using podcasting is introduced that provides students with eLearning content in phases of distance learning. Educational content is prepared based on the principles of web didactics and distributed by podcasts. A course design is presented that integrates podcasting with phases of attendance in blended learning courses.

    Web 2.0 Enabled Blended Learning

    An easy to implement approach for setting up a blended learning course at a university of applied sciences by Web 2.0 and social software tools is presented. Web 2.0 and social software are applied in blended learning scenarios to support distance learning activities. Various web 2.0 applications and face-to-face activities are mixed to make up a collaborative learning experience. Examples of course designs created by mixing face-to-face units and distance learning units using online and mobile social media related to Web 2.0 are presented.
