173 1 - PublicationInteracting with the Arrowhead Local Cloud: On-boarding Procedure(IEEE, 2018-05)
; ; ;Hegedűs, Csaba; ;Delsing, JerkerEliasson, JensIndustrial automation systems are advancing rapidly and a wide range of standards, communication protocols and platforms supporting the integration of devices are introduced. It is therefore necessary to design and build appropriate tools and frameworks that allow the integration of devices with multiple systems and services. In this work we present the Arrow-head Framework, used to enable collaborative IoT automation and introduce two support core systems, SystemRegistry and DeviceRegistry, which are needed to create a chain of trust from a hardware device to a software system and its associated services. Furthermore, we propose an on-boarding procedure of a new device interacting with the Arrowhead local cloud. This ensures that only valid and authorized devices can host software systems within an Arrowhead local cloud.179 1Scopus© Citations 28 - PublicationMonitoring Industry 4.0 Applications for Security and Safety Standard ComplianceIn Industry 4.0 independent entities shall inter-operate to allow flexible and customized production. To assure the parties that individual components are secured to inter-operate, we investigate automated standard compliance. The standard compliance is defined based on given sets of security and safety requirements from which are derived measurable indicator points. Those reflect configurations of systems recommended by security, safety or legally relevant standards and guidelines, which help to demonstrate the state of compliance. We propose in this paper an initial approach to automate such assessment when components are inter-operating with each other by using a monitoring and standard compliance verification framework. This will assure the parties that services or devices within their organizations operate in a secure and standard compliant way, without compromising the underlying infrastructure.

In particular for SMEs, open source tools for Enterprise 2.0 offer a good alternative to commercial systems, but the diversity of systems makes this marketplace quite confusing. Therefore we present a study of the growing market for Enterprise 2.0 systems that focuses entirely on systems available under an open source license. We use a set of 97 individual features and criteria that are grouped around the central functionalities of communication, coordination, collaboration and connection, to analyze the suitability of a representative sample of open source Enterprise 2.0 tools for the average knowledge worker. The evaluation matrix can be easily adapted to get more specific evaluation results for more particular company requirements. Our results show that there are many technically mature solutions with a broad range of functionality available from the market of open source tools for Enterprise 2.0.
143 2 - PublicationRemote On-Screen Support and Cooperation with Open Sporce Components in e-LearningIn many learning situations it is essential to offer support for the students by an instructor directly at the computer screens of the students like in a computer lab. To provide this support in remote e-learning situations, the teacher needs a real-time view of the contents of the students computer screen from remote. in this paper we discuss a solution for providing real-time remote on-screen student support with distance-learning via internet connections in a safe and secure manner. Our "virtual classroom" consists of open source components only and workson most operating systems independently of the underlying learning software used. We enhance this solution with a prototype of a common desktop, that is suitable for small work groupsto work together on a common computer screen in real time, which is useful e.g. for small student groups working togetherfrom remote. The common desktop systemalso works independently of the software used on the screen and can be operated with any client computer. In practice, these solutions are accompanied by commuication systems like chat or voice-chat, to achieve a system for real-time remote teaching and real-time remote cooperation.

166 2 - PublicationVisualizing Knowledge: A Decision Matrix for Choosing Visualization TechniquesKnowledge workers who want to apply knowledge visualization have to determine which visual representation and thereupon which visualization tool is suitable for their needs. To support knowledge workers in this sophisticated problem a systematic approach is presented that matches typical tasks in knowledge management to visualizationtechniques that support these tasks. Knowledge workers are provided with a three-dimensional decision matrix that enables them to identify a suitable visualization technique for a certain knowledge problem. To be able to systematically evaluate and identify adequate visualization techniques a set of evaluation criteria is introduced.
